Why Bowen

In the early 2000’s I put my back out. I don’t know how or what exactly I did, but after several weeks of suffering I was at the point where I was struggling to breath and I was getting family assistance to dress myself.

As I hobbled into work and one of my colleagues said you need to see my Bowen therapist. In desperation I booked an appointment. I knew nothing of Bowen and how it worked. I was expecting something similar to massage and was very surprised when the therapist performed minimal rolling moves over muscles, ligaments and tendons, left the room and then returned. During the session I felt weird tingling sensations, hot and cold. I put it down to my body being so tense and sore, “nerve pain” I told myself. Little did I know that this is something that some Bowen patients feel during their treatments, when their bodies start to relax.

When I got home, I promptly fell asleep. I woke up the next day free. I could move. I could breathe. I could dress myself! "There is something to this" I thought.
Since then, I have continued to visit a Bowen Therapist and have found relief for more than just back pain.

My aim is provide my clients with the same relief I have felt using Bowen Therapy.
